Hillendale Health and Physical Education

Hi, my name is George Claypoole. I am the Health and Physical Education teacher at Hillendale. I've had the opportunity to serve and learn from a kaleidoscope of kids over the past 40 years. I've been fortunate to teach in a school district where I am surrounded by knowledgeable, kind and caring professionals who support each other and the students they teach.

My goal is to challenge kids to reach their full potential. I attempt to impress upon students that failure is necessary to achieve success. The more we try to avoid failing, the less successful we are. Failure should be embraced, not avoided.

I strive to live one day at a time following the Triple F Formula... Family, Friends and Fishing. The unique part of my Family and Friends group is they clearly extend into a special place called Hillendale Elementary School. Some of my family members are featured in the photos on this page. Fishing for me is truly an opportunity to be in, on or next to water. Communing with nature is one of my passions.

I've been blessed with good health, a loving family and great friends. To steal a line from Lou Gehrig... "I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of this earth."

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Hillendale Health and PE site.
