On Wednesday, April 21, 2004 Hillendale was visited by a GIANT EARTH BALLOON! Thanks to the Hillendale PTO and the Delaware Children's Museum Outreach Program the students at Hillendale had an enriching educational experience. Read some of the comments below from Mrs. Griffith's Second Grade Class.

I thought the assembly was fun. I liked the Earth Balloon the best when we sat inside. I liked it when we learned about where Hawaii was. ~ Jordan H.

I think the Earth Balloon was the coolest thing I've ever seen. We got to sit inside the balloon. We also learned about Pangea. We also learned about the crust. ~ Brendan H.

It looked like it was in 3-D. Some day I want to go in space and take pictures of the Earth. I would want to show my mom it. We saw all seven continents... Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Antarctica. ~ Gregory T.

I really liked the assembly. The Earth Balloon was 19 feet tall and 22 feet around. I learned a lot. ~ Evan U.

The Earth Balloon assembly was very exciting. I thought learning about the Earth was fun. We learned quite a lot. ~ Hannah C.

I had lots of fun at the assembly. First we looked at the Earth Balloon from the outside. We then went inside the balloon and we looked at the Earth from the inside. Benjamin H.

I liked it when we went in the balloon and we sat on the bottom

I really enjoyed the assembly about the Earth. My favorite part was when I went inside the giant balloon. I learned that the Pacific Ocean was the largest ocean in the world. ~ Morgan C.

When I went inside the Earth Balloon I felt good. I loved the inside.
