Red Ribbon Week Celebration
Red Ribbon Week is a nationally recognized celebration to promote positive life styles, responsible decision making and drug free healthy lives.
Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated this school year during the week of October 25, 2004.
In celebration of Red Ribbon Week Hillendale Elementary School will hold activities aimed to encourage peer acceptance and respect while reinforcing a desire in our students to make healthy choices . Our theme for the week is Plant the Promise of a Drug Free Future.
The following agenda is planned for our students:
Monday October 25:
***Distribution of red ribbons
***Assembly: "Together" to be held at Chadds Ford Elementary School. This program is a multi-media motivational presentation which encourages teamwork, understanding and support for each other to produce a stronger community.
Tuesday October 26:
***Wear red to school
Wednesday October 27:
***Classroom Art Project: Planting a Promise
Thursday October 28:
***Positive Choices classroom activities and sharing of classroom promises during morning announcements
During the week all students will participate with their class in the planting of red tulips and yellow daffodils in the Hillendale Garden. These bulbs will represent promises for a healthy and strong future of our Hillendale community. The classrooms will also be decorating a large flower for the front lobby which will represent each student and a class promise for the future.
