In our K-5 school we have 389 students. Class sizes range from about 18-24 students per class. In addition to our excellent teaching staff, we have over ten paraprofessionals supporting our students in the classrooms and in our library, science, reading, and technology programs. The Hillendale community is very proud of our PSSA scores. We have had some of the highest scores in the state in both reading and math. This is the fourth year in a row that our students have excelled on this test. We have a very exciting learning environment, centered on high academic standards. Our staff is dedicated to the success of each of our students, and we strive to instill in our students a love for learning and the pursuit of knowledge. The Hillendale educational program is supported by a variety of resource services and personnel, including a guidance counselor, reading specialist, teacher of the academically talented, and an instructional support team. In addition to core subject areas, our students regularly participate in physical education, health, art, music, technology, and library classes. Students may also participate in band, chorus, and orchestra. Our school is also fortunate to have a very supportive and active Parent-Teacher Organization. Our PTO supports our school with exciting assembly programs, school equipment and supplies, and special programs such as "Art-in-Action" and ‚ "Hands on Science". The staff and I look
