MINKE WHALE

Hi! I'm Mickey the minke whale! You can call me Mickey for short!

Did you know I am the only baleen whale commercially hunted?

Since I am baleen, I eat small fish like plankton and krill. My diet brings my weight to an amazing 20,000 pounds or 10 tons!

Marine biologists told me when I am an adult, I will be 33 feet long. Isn't that wonderful?

If you ever see me you will notice I am black or dark gray on top, and white or pale gray on my stomach.

You would probably find me around things called boats. They are odd-looking things. I often like to explore the bottoms of them.
